Carrier Claim Review Cartonization Playbook

Use this whenever a carrier claim references crush, seal failure, wet damage, label loss, or insufficient packaging. This playbook is for teams responding to damage claims, lost-package disputes, or carrier exception notes.

Packout checklist

  1. Collect claim photos, tracking events, package dimensions, material spec, label placement, and packer notes for the shipment.
  2. Confirm materials: corrugated boxes, void fill, carton sealing tape, packing slips.
  3. Keep three right-size carton families, filler within arm's reach, a scale, and a sample packed order at the bench.
  4. For carrier claim review work, treat cartonization as a controlled operation: define the package spec, stage the right materials, and inspect the first completed orders before volume scales.
  5. Record the approved package size, finished weight, label position, and exception rule.

QA checks

  • Classify the failure by material, closure, label, handling, or carrier issue.
  • Update the packout only when evidence points to a packaging cause.
  • Retain a claim packet template for future disputes.

Station setup

Keep three right-size carton families, filler within arm's reach, a scale, and a sample packed order at the bench.
