Carrier Rate Change Labels And Documents Playbook

Use this when carriers update DIM divisors, zone rules, peak fees, or oversize charges. This playbook is for operators reacting to dimensional-weight or surcharge changes.

Packout checklist

  1. Recalculate finished package dimensions and weights for the top shipping profiles.
  2. Confirm materials: thermal labels, label rolls, packing list envelopes, document pouches.
  3. Keep printer media, cleaning cards, and a visible label-orientation sample at the label station.
  4. For carrier rate change work, treat labels and documents as a controlled operation: define the package spec, stage the right materials, and inspect the first completed orders before volume scales.
  5. Record the approved package size, finished weight, label position, and exception rule.

QA checks

  • Prioritize high-volume packouts.
  • Review cartons near surcharge thresholds.
  • Update package guidance before the next billing cycle.

Station setup

Keep printer media, cleaning cards, and a visible label-orientation sample at the label station.
