Heavy Small Item Labels And Documents Playbook

Use this when a compact order weighs more than the usual package format is designed to carry. This playbook is for teams shipping dense parts, tools, books, hardware, or compact bundles.

Packout checklist

  1. Check total packed weight, closure strength, label adhesion, and whether the item can break through the wall.
  2. Confirm materials: thermal labels, label rolls, packing list envelopes, document pouches.
  3. Keep printer media, cleaning cards, and a visible label-orientation sample at the label station.
  4. For heavy small item work, treat labels and documents as a controlled operation: define the package spec, stage the right materials, and inspect the first completed orders before volume scales.
  5. Record the approved package size, finished weight, label position, and exception rule.

QA checks

  • Use a package format rated for the weight.
  • Reinforce closure where needed.
  • Check carrier weight label accuracy.

Station setup

Keep printer media, cleaning cards, and a visible label-orientation sample at the label station.
