Fragile Product Packout Mailer Selection Playbook

Use this when return notes mention breakage, dents, cracks, or scuffs. This playbook is for teams shipping glass, ceramic, electronics, collectibles, or crush-sensitive goods.

Packout checklist

  1. Identify where the product can move, flex, rub, or make contact with a hard carton edge.
  2. Confirm materials: poly mailers, padded mailers, rigid mailers, return labels.
  3. Stage each mailer size in labeled slots and keep a product-fit sample beside the active pick list.
  4. For fragile product packout work, treat mailer selection as a controlled operation: define the package spec, stage the right materials, and inspect the first completed orders before volume scales.
  5. Record the approved package size, finished weight, label position, and exception rule.

QA checks

  • Add an internal restraint method.
  • Check product clearance on every side.
  • Run a small drop/handling simulation before scaling.

Station setup
