Packout checklist
- Collect claim photos, tracking events, package dimensions, material spec, label placement, and packer notes for the shipment.
- Confirm materials: inspection labels, replacement mailers, void fill, return envelopes.
- Separate inspect, clean, relabel, and repack areas so returned units do not mix with ready-to-ship inventory.
- For carrier claim review work, treat returns and rework as a controlled operation: define the package spec, stage the right materials, and inspect the first completed orders before volume scales.
- Record the approved package size, finished weight, label position, and exception rule.
QA checks
- Classify the failure by material, closure, label, handling, or carrier issue.
- Update the packout only when evidence points to a packaging cause.
- Retain a claim packet template for future disputes.
