Label Reprint Control Returns And Rework Playbook

Use this when reprints happen outside a controlled exception process. This playbook is for teams with duplicate labels, scan failures, or relabeling errors.

Packout checklist

  1. Define who can reprint, where old labels go, and how the system records the exception.
  2. Confirm materials: inspection labels, replacement mailers, void fill, return envelopes.
  3. Separate inspect, clean, relabel, and repack areas so returned units do not mix with ready-to-ship inventory.
  4. For label reprint control work, treat returns and rework as a controlled operation: define the package spec, stage the right materials, and inspect the first completed orders before volume scales.
  5. Record the approved package size, finished weight, label position, and exception rule.

QA checks

  • Destroy or mark voided labels immediately.
  • Scan the final label on the package.
  • Review reprint reasons weekly.

Station setup

Separate inspect, clean, relabel, and repack areas so returned units do not mix with ready-to-ship inventory.
