Packout checklist
- Estimate packaging burn by day and compare it with on-hand cartons, mailers, labels, tape, and filler.
- Confirm materials: inspection labels, replacement mailers, void fill, return envelopes.
- Separate inspect, clean, relabel, and repack areas so returned units do not mix with ready-to-ship inventory.
- For seasonal volume surge work, treat returns and rework as a controlled operation: define the package spec, stage the right materials, and inspect the first completed orders before volume scales.
- Record the approved package size, finished weight, label position, and exception rule.
QA checks
- Set a reorder point for each critical packaging SKU.
- Pre-stage the top packout combinations.
- Review substitutions before the surge starts.
