Packout checklist

  1. Build a sample packout with every item, insert, and protective material for the next cycle.
  2. Confirm materials: inspection labels, replacement mailers, void fill, return envelopes.
  3. Separate inspect, clean, relabel, and repack areas so returned units do not mix with ready-to-ship inventory.
  4. For subscription box work, treat returns and rework as a controlled operation: define the package spec, stage the right materials, and inspect the first completed orders before volume scales.
  5. Record the approved package size, finished weight, label position, and exception rule.

QA checks

  • Document the order of operations.
  • Confirm insert placement.
  • Record final weight and dimensions before buying materials.
