Fragile Product Packout Tape And Sealing Playbook

Use this when return notes mention breakage, dents, cracks, or scuffs. This playbook is for teams shipping glass, ceramic, electronics, collectibles, or crush-sensitive goods.

Packout checklist

  1. Identify where the product can move, flex, rub, or make contact with a hard carton edge.
  2. Confirm materials: carton sealing tape, paper tape, tape dispensers, strapping.
  3. Keep dispensers adjusted, replace dull blades, and post a photo showing the accepted H-seal pattern.
  4. For fragile product packout work, treat tape and sealing as a controlled operation: define the package spec, stage the right materials, and inspect the first completed orders before volume scales.
  5. Record the approved package size, finished weight, label position, and exception rule.

QA checks

  • Add an internal restraint method.
  • Check product clearance on every side.
  • Run a small drop/handling simulation before scaling.

Station setup

Keep dispensers adjusted, replace dull blades, and post a photo showing the accepted H-seal pattern.
