Warehouse Stockout Recovery Warehouse Readiness Playbook

Use this after boxes, mailers, labels, tape, or filler hit zero on-hand. This playbook is for teams recovering after a packaging material runs out.

Packout checklist

  1. List every shipment touched by the substitution and record which packaging SKU replaced the normal one.
  2. Confirm materials: cartons, mailers, labels, tape, void fill.
  3. Use fixed homes for every packaging SKU and audit replenishment points before the first pick wave.
  4. For warehouse stockout recovery work, treat warehouse readiness as a controlled operation: define the package spec, stage the right materials, and inspect the first completed orders before volume scales.
  5. Record the approved package size, finished weight, label position, and exception rule.

QA checks

  • Check whether cost or damage changed.
  • Reset reorder points.
  • Add a backup packaging SKU for the next shortage.

Station setup

Use fixed homes for every packaging SKU and audit replenishment points before the first pick wave.
